Who is qualified?

This offer has limited capacity. Because of this, there are certain requirements you must meet in order to be eligible: 

• You have completed levels A1-A2 and pass the placement test (all students will need to take a placement test)
• You are living in Norway and want to improve your Norwegian.
• You are not currently participating in free Norwegian training sponsored by the Norwegian government (Introduction program, etc.).

NB! You cannot participate in several free courses on behalf of IMDi with other private providers at the same time.

How do I apply?

• Read about the different courses we are offering below, and register your interest for the course that suits you. (You can register your interest for both courses, but will only have the chance to participate in a single course.)
• Wait for an invitation to take a placement test at Alfaskolen or online. – Placement tests are mandatory before starting a free course!
  • Please note that books are not included in the offer. However, online courses do not use books, as you will have acess to a digitial resource, which is included in the offer.

Free Norwegian Writing and Conversation
Course

This course is perfect for you if you want to feel more confident in both speaking and writing Norwegian. You’ll get intensive training to express yourself clearly and naturally in work, studies, and daily life.

Free Norwegian course for skilled workers

This course is perfect for those who want to develop confidence and fluency in job-related situations. This course provides you with practical Norwegian skills for your professional life, whether you are looking for a job, advancing your career, or using your education in Norway.

NB!

• You cannot participate in several free courses on behalf of IMDi with other private providers at the same time.

• Mandatory attendance: If you do not attend the first sessions of the course, your spot on the course will be given to another participant without warning.

• If you have taken a spot on a free course in 2024, but did not attend the course or give the administration a notice of withdrawal, you will be barred from attending our free courses for 2025 and 2026.
